Before attempting specific routes, you must understand the invisible stats tracking your progress. The game does not explicitly show these numbers.

Affection (0-20+)

Tracks your bond with Pierrot or Harlequin.

  • Threshold: You need 10+ for Pierrot and 12+ for Harlequin to trigger True Endings.
  • Decay: Selecting opposite route choices often subtracts points (e.g., Flirting with Harlequin = -2 Pierrot).
  • Indicator: Check the "Eye Icon" in the Gallery. Bright = High, Dull = Low.

Sanity & Chaos

Your mental stability inverse to Chaos.

  • Sanity 0%: Instant "Consumed" Bad Ending.
  • Pierrot Req: Requires HIGH Sanity (>50%) to process his sadness.
  • Harlequin Req: Requires LOW Sanity / HIGH Chaos to accept his madness.

Route 1: Pierrot's Obsession

Ending: "The Tearless Face" TRUE ENDING

How to unlock the Pierrot True Ending? To achieve the "Tearless Face" ending, players must maintain an Affection Score of 10 points or higher, choose the Green Tent on Day 1, and select the critical dialogue "I accept your sadness" during the Chapter 3 Meltdown event.

Pierrot's route is an emotional tightrope. You must show him empathy without pity, and maintain high sanity to anchor him to reality. One wrong word in Chapter 3 will ruin this run.

Part A: The Gates

You meet Bil, the gatekeeper.

Part B: Tent Selection

Mandatory check.

➤ Select: GREEN TENT Ticket. Entering the Red Tent will immediately lock you out of Pierrot's route.

The Final Test

Harlequin traps you in the Mirror Maze. He creates a fake reflection of Pierrot.

How to unlock the Harlequin True Ending? To trigger the "Partners in Chaos" ending, you are required to have an Affection Score of 12 points or higher, achieve a Perfect Score (100%) in the Knife Minigame, and obtain the Jester's Original Mask item from Backstage.

This route is mechanically demanding. Unlike Pierrot's emotional checks, Harlequin requires gameplay perfection. You must win the minigame, find a specific item, and choose "Bold" dialogue options that lower your Sanity.

Dialogue Strategy

Harlequin hates fear. Never choose "I'm scared" or "Please stop".

The Knife Minigame

Occurs after choosing the RED TENT.

Prerequisite: Zero affection with both clowns.

This ending represents the "Nihilistic" escape. You treat the circus as a hallucination.

  • The Rejection (Day 0): At the Café, do not accept Pierrot's ticket enthusiastically. Do not flirt with Harlequin. Pick the most neutral/boring options available.
  • The Medical Path (Day 1): When asked to choose a tent (Red/Green), a third option is faintly visible if affection is low: "Visit Medical Tent". Choose it.
  • The Loop (Day 1-2): You must visit the Doctor 3 times.
    • Visit 1: Sign the waiver.
    • Visit 2: He discusses "symptoms". Scan the room to find the Broken Scalpel.

How to Unlock

1. Unlock the Easter Egg: After completing both main routes, go to the Main Menu. A small "Eye" icon will appear on the logo. Click it exactly 10 times. You will hear a laugh.

2. Start New Game+: Start a new run. You will notice new dialogue options that reference "Déjà vu".

3. The Fourth Wall: Play through Day 2. At the final climax (regardless of route), a third, glitchy text option appears:

Normal / Neutral Ending

Achieved by playing "safely". If you have moderate affection (40-70%) with both, but commit to neither, you become a permanent background NPC in the circus. You don't die, but you never leave.

Route 6: Consumed

Dead Ends

  • The Porcelain Doll: Triggered by telling Pierrot "I want to go home" in Chapter 3. He turns you into a doll to keep you forever.
  • The Final Trick: Triggered by failing the Knife Minigame OR refusing Harlequin with low affection. You become the target practice.
