The Item Economy: How to Win

In Buckshot Roulette, items are not just power-ups; they are the variables that solve the equation of death. Starting from Round 2, the game shifts from a game of chance to a game of Resource Management.

Item Distribution Rules

Understanding when and how many items you receive is crucial for planning:

  • Round 1: No items. Pure probability.
  • Round 2: Two items per loadout.
  • Round 3: Four items per loadout.
  • Double or Nothing: Random distribution. You must prioritize inventory space (Max 8 slots).

The Tier List (Meta Ranking)

Based on the Dealer's AI priority and mathematical win-rates, items can be categorized into tiers:

S-Tier (Game Breakers)

  • Handsaw: The only way to out-damage the Dealer's healing. Essential for lethal turns.
  • Handcuffs: Turn denial is the strongest mechanic. Skipping the Dealer's turn effectively gives you two shots in a row.

A-Tier (Information)

  • Magnifying Glass: Converts 50/50 guesses into 100% certainties.
  • Burner Phone: Invaluable in "Double or Nothing" for deduction, though less precise than the Glass.

The "Adrenaline" Meta

In the Double or Nothing update, Adrenaline changed the meta completely. It allows you to steal an item from the Dealer and use it immediately.

Strategic Note: The Dealer's AI is programmed to protect its own high-value items. However, in the Steam version, a bug/feature causes the Dealer to often discard Adrenaline immediately upon use. This gives human players a massive advantage if they can manipulate the turn order.
